As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Oncology Social Worker (OSW-C) with over a decade of experience specializing in supporting adults with cancer, my work is driven by a commitment to helping patients navigate the complexities of cancer care with compassion and expertise. My passion for my work stems from personal experience navigating my mother’s cancer diagnosis. I have an inside perspective on the complicated emotions patients and their family members experience during a cancer diagnosis, which are always at the core of my clinical practice.
In addition to practice, I’m a lecturer at Rutgers University, where I teach courses on Grief and Loss and Clinical Social Work in Health Settings. I’m passionate about preparing Master of Social Work (MSW) students for meaningful careers in medical social work by sharing practical tools and insights to enhance patient care.
Oncology social work is a highly specialized field requiring both clinical skills and medical knowledge, much of which is learned on the job. To address the gaps in formal training, I created this website as a resource hub for seasoned practitioners and those exploring oncology social work. Here, you’ll find tools, ideas, and support to grow your confidence and impact in this rewarding field.
